Purpose of the position

De Marque is a global leader in the digital book industry. We developed Cantook Reader, a "universal" mobile reading application, which is also available as a white-label solution for several clients. Our mobile applications are used by digital libraries and booksellers, reaching hundreds of thousands of users every month. We have decided to completely overhaul our mobile application program, both from a user experience and technical perspective.

Main role

The senior mobile developer will contribute to the renewal and modernization of the range of native applications that De Marque offers to its clients or directly. By integrating key technologies developed by De Marque in recent years, they will seek to create a premium user experience for the various verticals in which De Marque operates (libraries, universities, schools, general public).


Tasks and responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and development of native mobile applications for iOS and Android, using modern technologies (React Native).

  • Collaborating with teams across our various platforms to interface mobile applications with De Marque's web services.

  • Understanding user needs and translating them into technical solutions,

  • Participate in the evaluation of tasks to be completed (effort, deadlines) and in the planning of work,

  • Participate in the implementation of good development, testing and deployment practices.

  • He is well-versed in React Native development, but is comfortable with native development (Swift, Kotlin) and can contribute to the creation of native modules if necessary.


Skills and experience required

  • At least 3 years of experience in mobile development, with proven expertise in iOS and Android application development.

  • Solid experience with React Native and a good understanding of mobile development concepts.

  • Knowledge of native programming languages (Swift, Kotlin) and ability to create native modules if necessary.

  • Strength: Focus on user experience.

  • Advantage: Interest in process automation for the deployment of white-label applications.

Note: our main office is located in Quebec City, but teleworking is possible.
